There are two Wincaps installers, the commercial installer for broadcasters and access services companies and the standalone e-commerce installer. Please contact Broadstream Support for the download details for the relevant installer.
The commercial installer installs the Q4 and Q-Live clients, Q-News, Q-Live services, Video Indexer and the ASR components. The installer will also install Medialooks Multiformat for video playback and from 4.43 on wards; Dot Net 4.8 (if not previously installed) and on 4.44 onwards Dot Net 5.0 (if not previously installed).
The e-commerce installer installs the Q4 client and E-Activator licence manager (if this has not already been installed).
Note: Wincaps is not supported or tested on a MAC. This is due primarily to video playback support on the Windows partition feature.
Note: Wincaps Q4 or Q-Live clients are not supported on virtual machines, this is mainly due to video playback support due to Wincaps reliance on video playback hardware.
Q4 and Q-Live clients require a valid licence. When using the e-commerce installer for the first time from the Broadstream Store there will be a prompt to add the EID licence code sent with the subscription confirmation email.
