Plasma Data Feed Handler

The Plasma Teletext Data Feed Handler (DFH) is a powerful import tool that can import many different formats including high frequency feeds. Used in conjunction with Plasma’s Teletext Page Formatter (TPF) this becomes a flexible automation utility for converting multiple data feeds like Excel spreadsheets, databases, teletext ready formats, and simple text files and more from multiple sources into teletext formatted pages, effortlessly. The system also includes the ability to preview output before publishing live.

Run multiple simultaneous instances effortlessly. Each feed or group of feeds can be easily managed in isolation so changes can be made without affecting other feeds.

In feeds that are not teletext ready the content can be used and re-used as many times as required with differing amounts used on different page deliveries.

Data Feed Handler

The Handler accepts multiple feeds of data input from sources such as serial feeds, text files and XML files and stores the text in a local database. The Teletext Page Formatter then generates teletext formatted pages derived from this data and sends them to a host PLASMA or teletext data generator.

Teletext Page Formatter

The Teletext Page Formatter uses the concept of template pages to describe how the database fields are formatted on the page. Each template contains a fixed area of information (such as template header, content and advertising area) together with an area containing placeholders for the content derived from the appropriate data feed.

Programming of the DFH/TPF can initially be carried out by our engineers, however training can be provided to customers wishing to have the flexibility to carry out the programming themselves.
