SubCaptioner utilizes AI, artificial intelligence, supported by Human Editors to provide a more efficient approach to Subtitling
The cost of human-driven captioning is rising and interest in the overall profession is declining. Artificial Intelligence-based speech engines have improved dramatically over the past five years and can deliver very accurate speech-to-text conversions in multiple languages that rival those provided by humans, but at a substantial savings.
Over time we will see AI-based speech-to-text solutions become the norm in subtitling. Humans will still be involved but in editing and managerial roles rather than front line positions.
We believe the end result will be a more efficient and cost-effective solution for content producers and broadcasters.
To that end, we are launching a new file-based subtitling and captioning service called SubCaptioner. This is currently an, invitation only, soft launch with a limited number of customers to help us test and refine our workflows and discuss additional feature offerings and options that will provide the best possible benefit.
SubCaptioner will initially offer two levels of service for file-based captioning & subtitling:
- A Self-Service option where customers upload their files via the cloud or FTP to the SubCaptioner Speech Engine. Files will be processed by the speech engine and a SRT output file will be produced and returned to the customer. Customers will have the option of using the SRT file “as is” or, if necessary, quickly making any corrections to text or timing using existing tools or BroadStream’s WinCaps and MediaMate software.
- A separate Full-Service option will also available where customers can upload their files via the cloud or FTP, but after the file is processed it will be passed along to an experienced BroadStream Subtitling Editor to review the file for accuracy, make any necessary corrections to text and/or timing and perform a quality check before returning the file to the customer.
Additional services will be made available during the soft launch and we encourage you to contact your local BroadStream Sales Director or complete the form below and tell us about your specific needs and requirements. We’ll reach out to everyone that signs up as we increase capacity.
We look forward to learning more about your requirements and structuring our solution to provide maximum benefit before we go live later this year.
Thanks, in advance, for your participation.
