Duluth, GA, USA – April 3, 2018
Leading integrated playout systems specialist, BroadStream Solutions, is pleased to announce that KTSF, in the San Francisco Bay Area, went live recently with BroadStream’s OASYS Integrated Playout as their broadcast automation solution.
KTSF26 is an independent, full-power station, locally owned and operated by Lincoln Broadcasting Company that reaches over 1.7 million Asian-Americans throughout the 11-county San Francisco Bay Area. The station has been broadcasting since 1976, longer than any other television station in Northern California. Combined over the air, cable and satellite, and their 24/7 live-streaming mobile app, reaches more than 2,450,000 Northern California households.
KTSF’s OASYS system includes 1 playout channel capable of providing subtitles in a variety of Asian languages, Extended Graphics, Secondary Record and full 1+1 Redundancy. Their ingest includes 2 HD Maker ingest channels and a 32TB NAS with Indexing Services, File QA and Audio Normalization. OASYS also integrates with their Wide Orbit Traffic system to facilitate scheduling and billing.
“The commissioning process was very smooth and the user interface was very intuitive and easy to pick up”, according to Trenton Mengel, Chief Engineer at KTSF. “The OASYS platform gives us much more flexibility and capability versus our previous automation system, positions us to be able to migrate to future broadcast technologies when the time comes, and has helped streamline our workflows.”
“We are excited to be working with KTSF and have them as part of the BroadStream Family,” said David Bowes, President and CEO of BroadStream. “KTSF26 is a true example of how local broadcasters serve unique portions of their viewing area with specialized programming and live news tailored to their specific interests and language.”
