How We Are Managing #COVID-19 @BroadStream

These are trying times for us all and we hope you, your families and co-workers are keeping safe and healthy.

BroadStream is following all recommended guidelines for the health and safety of our team members, customers and partners and we remain open with most of our team working from their homes.

We recognize that the broadcast business must continue to function to deliver news, entertainment and education for everyone as we shelter in place, practice good social distancing and work to flatten the COVID-19 curve, so we continue to operate in this “new normal” to support our broadcasters and content providers with:

  • 24/7 Customer Support
  • Remote training and configuration assistance
  • Remote assistance with local operations when needed
  • New system configuration and shipping with remote commissioning and training
  • Sales and Sales Engineering assistance for new projects to support system upgrades and replacements to help our customers avoid on-air problems and interruptions.

Our offices in the US, the United Kingdom, Croatia and India are functional but the vast majority of employees are working from home. Our current mission is to keep everyone safe and continue to work so we are available to support our customers and their broadcast operations.

Our Support staff continues to monitor the phones and the Support email inbox and provide support as needed. For jobs that require staff to be present in the office, we have dedicated volunteers who go to their local offices when necessary to receive packages, perform maintenance and repairs, configure new systems, test completed systems and ship hardware out to both existing and new customers.

Our Developers in Croatia and England continue with their daily meetings, conference calls and development projects so that work on defects, new products and new features continues on our development road map.

As most of you know, it’s a long-standing practice for us to access OASYS and Polistream systems remotely and perform fixes, upgrades, check configurations or just observe an operator in action to assist where needed so when we have to work from home, nothing really changes; no change for you, us, or the process we go through to provide support and resolve issues.

The same is true for our Sales and Sales Engineering teams as many of you have experienced online product demos from these teams where you see a live demo, get a very good feel for our software and how it works and have the opportunity to ask questions. So, working from home for us really does not change anything in terms of how we support our existing customers and work with new customers.

Our Project Managers all work on-line and successfully manage all of our customer upgrades and new projects while our Project Engineers are adept at both on-premise and remote commissioning and training work. We can pre-commission a new system so it lands on your doorstep ready to be installed.

Once installed, we can perform any locally required commissioning remotely to make your system air-worthy. Operators and Engineers can then be trained remotely following a specific process to help your staff understand, not only the operational aspects of our solutions but also the overall design thinking so they see the entire picture.
